Initially I had planned to replace all the Crisis Suits iny the army by Crisis Knarloc variants where the Kroot only salvage the weapons and use a Knarloc as a weapon mount.

But at some point I remembered the Power Loader from Aliens and wondered if this could also be done with a Kroot and a Crisis Suit. What finally sold me was the release of the Forgeworld Crisis variants.

Nerdy details to look out for are the krootified lower legs (so the Kroot feels more at home when he walks with the suit) and the former pilot`s head.

This model won a Golden Demon in Silver in the category 40K Monster/Vehicle at the German Games Day 2006.

For some reason though I just cannot take decent pictures of the light grey parts. There is a subtly blended highlight around the craggy lines which just won`t show up (same with the Hammerhead). One day I shall master the dark art of model photography...
