Lakouang (Quang N.), Vitry Sur Seine (Paris Suburb), France

Born: 14 october 1974

Occupation: Finding motivation in order to find a job. Multi task
artist wannabe. Avatar spawner.

Education: Degree Analysis and Programmation. Computer science.

Years glueing miniatures: since 1994
Months painting miniatures : since July, 2006

Influences: Bisley and O'Neil. Easley, Elmore, Brom, Parente.

Favorite music: Anything from ska to dub.

I started drawing since childhood. But strangely I did draw like a
rock. Hopefully I met a muse in Kindergarten. She drew Go Nagai'
Mazinger with exquisite skill. The perfection of her lines... was
fabulous. Well I may exagerate a little. But she really gives me the
will to draw.

I started to draw cars, rockets, tanks. As every little boy should do.
Growing up I found that model kit about World War 2 tanks and
aircrafts was a logical suite and so I started a new hobby : model
kit. I grabbed every cheap kit I can find and in the end I started to
do some custom work (replacing gun, paiting weathering, etc.)

Then I discovered roleplaying games. My fate was sealed. My drawing
passion find a new terrain to explore. Heroic Fantasy is THE genre
where you can create almost anything. So I let loose my imagination
and drew dragons, demons, heroes and vilains. I mostly draw sketches,
I like the process of creating a whole creature (bones, organs).

Then I discovered Space Hulk. My fate was sealed again. If Heroic
Fantasy is somehow the realm of flesh and bodies, Science Fiction is
the realm of the machines. I discovered a new playground where I enjoy
robots, spaceships and alien encounters.

Finally after years of drawing, I found my own style. A quick and
furious drawing. Construction lines trapped on the paper alongside the
shadowing and detailing. The aspect may sometimes be blurry with an
abstract approach.

Being a funny guy with a good sense of humour and taste, I naturally
continued my drawing exploration in comic strips and parodia. I find
that a minimalist drawing can also be as forceful than a brilliant
pasterpiece. The taste is not in what you see but in what you read.
I created a logo for the Tyranid Yahoo Group. A logo composed of 4
little comic avatar. My fate was sealed again :)

PS : you will notice I don't talk about painting : I just hate painting.
I wish that one day I will wake up and my minis are painted, even
hideously.
