HIVE FLEET MOLOCH under inquisitorial quarantine

Initiator of this website is:
As long as I can remember I have had an unhealthy love for man eating monsters - preferably from outer space.
So it seems an obvious choice that I finally went for the Tyranids in Games Workshop's Warhammer 40K game. But when Hive Fleet Moloch was spawned in 2000 I had no idea how much the monstrous swarm would absorb me (quite fitting actually). Since then the models have won some awards and been shown in the White Dwarf. A lot of people have told me how much they like them. This is one reason behind this site.
So at first it will mainly be a gallery for Hive Fleet Moloch (with a few notable exceptions).
But if anything the Tyranids are creatures of endless possibilities.
Marco Schulze
My real intention is to focus on different ideas on Tyranid related concepts - be they sketches, conversions or texts. In order to get there I will feature other people's ideas, photos and writings. So if you think you've got something to contribute: Don't hesitate. Contact me. I won't bite.

To make all of this a bit clearer here's a short rundown of the different sections:

Hive Fleet Moloch Gallery - The place to find pictures of my models

Hive Fleet Ouroboros Gallery - This new Hive Fleet was created for the Forgeworld book “Imperial Armour Volume IV - The Anphelion Project” and quite a few can be seen in the book. After having done the models the colour scheme somehow stuck

Spawning Vat - This section will focus on different Tyranid creatures, variants of existing ones or even completely new monsters

Background - Tyranid ideas for creatures, settings and stories in text form.

Prey Species - A shameless excuse to show some pictures of my non-Tyranid models

Links - Links to some other sites you really should visit.

A few people just need to be mentioned. Without them this site simply would not be here.

Katja - many, many of the models shown here have been harrassed by her paintbrush. It is rare enough to find a partner who can tolerate such a weird passion. But she even decided to take part in this monstrous endeavor. One of many reasons which still make me wonder on a daily basis why I had so much luck.

Jes Goodwyn - just as any 40K player I was always in awe of his genius. When I finally came to know Jes I was surprised by how approachable and enthusiastic he still is. Since then we have been exchanging our ideas on Tyranids in one way or the other. (Besides his well known artistic skills he is incredibly good in showing his concepts by pantomime. You really should have seen him explain how the "Look out, Sir !" rule would look the 'Nid way.)

torghul Torge - I have no idea how all this web voodoo works. Torge is the guy behind this site and working with him has been a pleasure. Before this project he knew nothing of tabletop gaming at all. So it's all the more surprising how much enthusiasm he developed for this. By now he even has learned how to tell the difference between a Lictor and a Carnifex...
the Web 'Nids - When I was working full swing on the early HF Moloch models I stumbled across a Tyranid web community. Considering how bad those web boards can be I was delighted to find a really great gathering of like minded monster addicts.
Bouncing ideas back and forth with them has not only made all of this much more enjoyable but also led to many of the final models.
( I'll just mention Mr. Pink, Warren Beattie and Dr. Casavant here for now - knowing how many I leave out )
Look at the Links section if you too want to join the swarm.

I hope this site does something for all you Hive siblings out there. If you happen to be an enemy of the swarm: Don't worry. Be patient. We'll come to your place too.
