The way I approached the new Lictor was quite ambitious in many ways. The concept was to create a mini-diorama with a strong nod to Hamlet. The Guard officer’s head was chosen for that strong, staring look with idea that he still looks defiant, even in death. This creates a nice tension between the Lictor and him, a bit like an outstaring contest. But I know who’s won....
